One of my little Mexican students
Baja life continues to treat us well here. My latest news is less than exciting but I have had requests for more news and photos. I can hardly believe it but.....

I am teaching English to 4 little kids here and that has been quite a challenge but they are doing well. They are all just so cute and very smart. Teaching Spanish is much easier than teaching English. My adult students are a blast to teach and they are much more inhibited than the little kids which is normal. But they also are very fun and smart!

Our latest "craft" has been making birdbaths out of stones, broken tiles, shells and whatever else we wanted to put into it and then forming them on the beach and covering with cement. We looked like kids making mud pies! It was fun and they turned out pretty cool.

We had a campfire on the beach on Saturday but it was not well attended this time. The residents here in the park (that kind of makes us sound like inmates!!) had gotten into a big bocce ball rivalry that afternoon along with some cocktails so that may have had

something to do with the campfire not being a big hit.

Baja Midnight hour is about 9 pm, for some 8 or earlier. Everyone goes to bed very early here and are up early as well. I have even fallen into this trap and am asleep BEFORE 11 pm. But that means that I am up by about 5.30 am! Then around 7.30 I take my 3 mile walk and if it is not too windy, I head out to kayak. The whales are showing up almost daily now. I will never tire of that show! Baja magic!

Sunday we had Gabriel and his family over for dinner. Gabriel is the park maintenance guy and he is a lot of fun. He has 3 children: Gabriela, Diego and Valentin (born on St. Valentine's day). Gabriela and her husband, Arturo have 2 children, Cesar and Jimena. Gabriela is taking time off to take care of the baby and will return to work here in a couple of years. We really enjoy this simple but very happy family.

So my days are busy, for the most part but it seems that I never accomplish much!

Teaching English and Spanish
Looks like you are having a blast, Kath. All of your students are so cute! Gosh, when you were little we thought you were Native (Pocahontas) but we were wrong - you were Mexican all along! Mike is looking good too. We got about 6 more inches of snow - so it looks nice and clean....but cold, cold.....cold!

Fun!
HI. I did pick you out in the parade. The picture above proved it. The family looks so curt. I think Dad was wrong when he called you the Indian Princess. It should be the Mexican Princess. LOL Or was that Uncle Tommy? I thought the birdbaths were cool, too. Also like seeing your "students." Try to take some pics of the whales!!! Love, Susie
