Again sorry for the dashed off post and the lack of pictures, am planning a lot more free time in the next location of Bali.

2/3/10
Mike and Christophe finally showed up after James and I had dinner at a beer garden and got to sample many Northern specialities, "hmmmm" is all I have to say about that. While waiting for them we had a snooze and then we all went our for more food and Big Changs (the local beer) at a pavement restaurant then we continued to drink beer like there was no tomorrow, we went to bed at 4am.

2/4/10 Woke up hanging, had breakfast and made it a whole day of Northern Wats, met a monk who we helped with his English homework, drank lots of water and took lots of photos. All the wats were beautiful of course but the cherry on the top Soi Du Wep (? sp) which was about a 30 minute drive up into the hills and then 300 steps to the top. We missed the sunset but the Chaing Mai city view was awesome at night and we suspect it was not nearly as crowded. It was magical with moks chanting and Buddhas, Buddhas, Buddhas.

That evening we went to the night market and this dude bought some grubs and shared them with us, lucky us! They were not as bad as I thought they would be. Seems the guts were fried out and it was just a crunchy shell. We got our dinner from street vendors, some was good and some was not so good. Live and learn with that one. Sometimes the "point and pray" method on a menu does NOT work.

2/5/10 We flew to Phu Ket and took a taxi to a coastal town caled Bang Niang. We swam in the sea, which is bathtub hot and had a fantastic dinner at this place called Mali, then drank like fishes and listened to live local music at a bar called Degree.

2/6/10 Finally a day to sleep in, slept late and relaxed; walked around town, swam in the sea, got some postcards written and laundry done and went early to bed.

2/7/10Went snorkeling in Ko Surin, amazing coral reefs! Tomorrow we are off to Ko Sok the National park to stay in tree houses. Will flesh this blog thing out with pictures and videos when I have a chance. Don't forget to sign your name when you comment.
