Hello, Chris here, or Mr Cwiss as I seem to be known to many people over here. Well, it's a week tomorrow since we packed up most of our wordly belongings for a new life in the east and it's hard to say whether it's gone quick or slow - seems like no time since we've arrived but then so much has happened. Generally we're really enjoying it - as the Mrs has said, the apartment is great, the rooftop "oasis" is the cherry on the cake, but personally I am loving that for the first time in my 10 year plus career that it hasn't taken me an hour to get to work. It's a sticky 5-10 minute walk - i will post a video of it in a few days - quite an eye opener and a bit different to the A46 of old.

Dropped in at the deep end with work - my 'induction' consisted of chatting with my boss for a couple of hours on monday morning and then basically, "off you go!". Sink or swim time really - lots to take in, lots to do but all quite different and kind of exciting. Been the only english person around for much of the week (amongst about 55 Thais and 3 Sri Lankans) which has been quite strange. They are all LOVELY people but the banter isn't quite the same as back in the UK. Everyone has been really kind with me - taken me out for proper thai lunches everyday (sample - delicious Pad Thai noodles and a juice for about 90p) and they even dropped off a packet of Walkers crisps and a packet of digestives at my desk on tuesday - very sweet.

Nice night last night - we had visiting buyers from Next in the UK who we took out on a very nice river cruise with food. Lucy's main conversation has been with the lady from reception at the apartments, so she came too for some much needed social interaction and we all had a really nice evening. Talking of Mrs Moss, as you know she has a job in the 'Nam - check the place out, it's like the Harrow of Vietnam:

Not really sure what else to tell you all apart from so-far-so-good......I am developing a taste for Chang beer, Lucy's tan is coming along nicely and we are in the position (which has never happened in the UK) of having 3 different invitations or options to go out on Saturday night. I'll leave it at that until I have something more interesting to tell you all..............

Nice one!
Makes a week of driving to work in rain, pea soup fog and yet more snow sound even more rubbish than it felt at the time - especially as we had a taste of what real weather was like last weekend. Glad to hear its all going well, love Pip xx
