Touchdown...
It is currently 8:30am here in Sunny Los Angeles and it has been a looooong night. After the customary pre-flight anxieties Em and I jumped on our plane and spent a lovely 13 hours together attempting to sleep in a chair.
OVERSEAS LESSON NUMBER ONE: the human body is not physically capable of sleeping in a chair regardless of the numerous variations of a 'sitting' position. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE!!!
After a scary shuttle ride to the hostel, we have dropped our bags and must kill the next 4 hours before we can check in... and when we do check in, we won't be waking up for the next 24 hours following the much needed sleep that we have been so deprived of.
Not much to report on really... but will write back when I have a little more than a delirious monologue to offer.

TAKE OFF!
At last........and you thought the day would never come.......you've finally found your wings and flown away. Glad to know you're learning some lessons on the way (the only way to cure sleeplessness in a chair on a plane is to fly 1st Class and as that won't be happening I suggest you try some new contortions over the next few flights to see if you can master this skill!) I'm very happy that you've both arrived safely! Have lots of fun.........lots of love Mum........ps I miss you already xx
