The house where everyone is friends is quickly becoming a home of us and them. The slobby habits of the visitors are now seeping into our hallways and common areas. We breath freely when they are gone and we choose to go out or retreat to our rooms, when normally we would choose to share quiet moments together.

On the bright side of this is that have something to laugh about, someone to share looks over the lips of glasses with...something is bringing us together.

Today I became a flustered school girl. Actually who am I kidding. I strutted to school letting the hip shaking music of M.I.A. carry me. With all the hubbub it was nice to have something to pull me out of the house all day.

I am part of a very small class. There are four of us. Nat(alie) from S. Africa, Zach from Chicago and Mariah from Minneapolis (yup you read Mariah. I have someone in my class named Mariah....pronounced Ma'rI'uh. Hearing her name reminds me of that sweet little biddy I call my bestie.)

When I found out I have people in my class from the old US of A I

Nats in front and Maria (said like Mariah) in back
flipped out. Finally someone I can understand. Someone who walks slows, laughs loud and best of all knows who I am because they grew up under the same blanket of stars and stripes as me. Today I was apple pie, baseball, New York, Los Angeles, the legal drinking age of 21, a bald eagle. I was a Ford truck, the Statue of Liberty, amber waves of grain, the american dream. I felt as proud of being an American as George W Bush.

My biggest fear going into this class was that I would have mean sourpuss teachers and worst of all tests. I was dealt a hand of neither. Julie is from Washington D.C., college educated in Vermont. She is sweet and funning putting you instantly at ease.

..................Jenga, my roomie Lars is playing creepy electro music that makes your head spin like when you lay on your back on a merry-go-round. I think of you Doll...............................

Karina is Argentinian but lived in New Jersey for the first 13 years of her life. She used to play the saxaphone in a rock band. When she had her first baby she set down her reeds for the guitar

and now writes and performs songs for children. (Mariah she looks and acts so much like Stacey its chilling...she's even a coffee pusher. Let's see if she ever shows up to class in a diaper.)

In the first class I learned a lot. Most specifically the Mung language which after an hour long class we learned was a made up language.

"Lon stad Lizzz" I am Lizzz
"Lemes stand Sue de Silva" Is he Mr. de Silva?
"Nien lemes nien stand Sue de Silva" No he is not Mr. de Silva

Who knew that I could be fluent in a language in an hour?
