I get a feeling we're getting close to one of the major wine producing centers of Australia!
Oct. 9th: After leaving Bunbury, Kevin and I headed to beautiful Margaret River! This small town is very famous in Australia for its wineries. The weather in Margaret River was very chilly and rainy when we were there. And our hostel room was freezing too! One thing you might not know about Australia is that it is not sunny and hot all year round. Haha. So, our first day in Margaret River, we only explored the town for a short while, and then hurried back to the hostel because of the weather.

As I said, Margaret River is home to many wineries, so of course we had to go on a wine tour! The tour company we chose was called “Wine for Dudes”, and was geared towards backpackers and young people. Our tour group was really fun! And everyone really loosens up after tasting a few wines! Haha. We went to four wineries (we tried about 20 wines in total, I think), a chocolate factory, a cheese factory (the triple cream brie was incredible) and a brewery. It was a really great day! We enjoyed ourselves.

The next day, the bus to our next destination (Pemberton) wasn’t until the

evening, so we spent most of that day seeing the rest of Margaret River and hanging out at the hostel.

Our tour took us to several wineries, with plenty of tastings!

It didn't take long to start feeling the wine.

During lunch we got to create our own drinks by mixing merlot and cabernet.

Red wine wasn't our favourite, but Hill enjoyed mixing it!

Our lunch was a picnic by the vineyard.

We didn't get much of a chance to see the fields up close, by I was able to sneak a peek right after lunch.

The chocolate factory has tons of different kinds of chocolate. Hill was definitely excited. lol

This was tour third winery we visited.

The tour was called "Wine for Dudes", but much to the disappointment of our single female tour mates, there were no single men.

Our last stop was a brewery and some live music!

At our last winery, Hill spotted this cute little book called "Wine Dogs", basically a collection of photos of the dogs of winery owners. Random, but cute.

The YHA in Margaret River was separated into several buildings. Good thing because there was a really loud rugby team staying at the hostel, but were in another building.

During one of our walks, we found the actual Margaret River. Supposedly it was named after a girl in order to impress her. It didn't work though. lol

Just a little thing that had been confusing us. Subway had changed the name of their "Small" drink size to "Regular". Since when in the world does that make sense?! "Regular" has always been "Medium" in our world. So you can imagine our disappointment when we received our "Regular" size drink.
