Day 13 - Pattaya
We were in no rush to get to Pattaya so we thought we would have an all you can eat Yum Cha lunch first. For 480thb ($16) each we must have had about 40 dishes between the 4 of us. It would be interesting to go back tomorrow to see if they are still open, it is a possibility that we bankrupted them because we ate so much :D

After lunch we got a taxi to Pattaya. Before we left we found some cheap accommodation on the Internet which looked nice. When we got there we found that it was in the same complex as a bar and the music was already pumping. Going to sleep here would be impossible. The location was a bit too shady so we had to look elsewhere in a quieter part of town.

After finding somewhere to stay we had a quick look around and then headed off to go karting. First the driver took us to the weaksauce karting place (after we showed him the address) but we wanted to go to the proper one which was a couple of minutes out of town. After some angry words from Justin he agreed to take us there for the original quoted fare. Go-Karting was crazy as the 3 boys got the pro karts capable of 80-100kmh and Micey (Ming Lee) got a standard kart. The first couple of laps on full throttle were a bit scary but we quickly got used to them. Again the safety standards were good as we were karting in shorts, flip flops, singlets and of course no seatbelts. Pepsi was weaksauce and we both managed to lap him within the first couple of minutes. His kart cut out a couple of times towards the end of the race. He claims there was something wrong but I think he was going to slow so his kart stalled. I lapped Justin once and passed him another time when he spun out and was sitting in the middle of a corner (Pepsi cut him off so to avoid hitting him Justin had to slam on the brakes and he spun out).

We headed back into town for dinner and some shopping. For some reason Justin stopped at every single dvd stand on the strip but in the end he did not buy anything. We were all drawn to the magic trick stand. We did not plan to buy anything but we all left with a few tricks each. After an Elvis spotting we went back to the hotel and called it a night. Pepsi's cousin was with us so we ended up having a quiet night.

Ripoff Tally - 8 (thanks to Justin getting road rage at the taxi driver).
