22nd September

Woo-hoo!! We're here in Boston, and all in all its looking great as the sun rises over the city and today looks like its going to be a great day.

Travelling was a rather interesting experience! Having arrived at the airport about 3 hours early so Kay can abuse the various retail outlets we spent about an hour using self check-in machines and waiting for the baggage machine to start working again. After all of that hassle, there was only one thing to do so we headed for TGI Fridays to enjoy some pre-honeymoon cocktails.

After a little while we headed down to the gate and were straight on to the plane and then the fun started!!

Having booked two seats on the side of the plane, we found our reservations had been moved into the central part of the plane which was damn annoying but we put up with it. About 10 minutes before we were due to fly, an 83 year old man towards the front of the plane was kicking off due to a lack of legroom and for some unknown reason that still baffles me, he was swapped to sit in front of me, even though there was no extra legroom. Being over six foot I was expecting the worse, and 10 minutes into the flight the seat was rocked back in such force the elderly man might as well removed the seat and give me a lap dance. I won't go, but lets put it this way, the guy was a fidget and I didn't have a great seven hours on the plane!!

We arrived in Boston at 6pm local time, the sun still very high and having cleared customs etc within 30 minutes we go straight onto the local tube system changing a few times to reach the South Bay district of Boston. Another 10 minute walk with the suitcases becoming increasingly heavy an we'd arrived at our stunning hotel, The Back Bay hotel which is the converted former police house. We checked in, and have a fantastically big room with all the usual hotel amenities.

We dumped the cases, and headed out for a quick look of the local area before bed. After about an hour of just getting our bearings, we found a 7/11 and a subway and just got a sandwich and some cookies before heading back to the hotel to watch some Monday night Football between the Colts and the Dolphins. We tucked in, but before the game even kicked off we'd hit the deck and that was that for our travelling/first day in Boston.

It is now 6.45am local time, and we are just watching the usual crappy Hotel TV, and looking for somewhere to eat some Breakfast.

Will write again later.
