Well Its after 12 at night and I am getting a 27 hour bus in a few hours but thought I´d give a quick update of the last few days.
Just after I wrote my last blog the guy who lent me his laptop turned out to be very friendly and he and his wife invited us to stay in their home in Rio before we got our bus to Salvador. I can now see why it is hard to leave Rio. We got the ferry back to Brazil with Danielle and Junior which was nice a calm. The car journey was quite the opposite with Junior purposely driving as fast as he could weaving in and out of every car possible which seems to be the norm in Brazil. Anyway we made it in one peace and arrived at the apartment to be greeted by Danielles parents and cat who we shared the apartment. We then went to the Bar and were introduced to Leonardo (Leo) and a few other Coriocas (Rio Natives). Stayed in the bar quite late, cant remember the time but they all convinced us to stay again the next day to give us a full tour of the city.
We were up at 8am this morning and saw all the sights that we didn´t see the last time. We went to the Sugar Loaf, Beaches (Ipanema and Leblon) followed by the Maracana football stadium (biggest in the world) and then to the zoo which has an unusually large amount of Parrots. After the Zoo we went out to an all you can eat dinner which proved to be a lot more expensive than we had expected but all in all it was a very long and fun day. Now I am going to sleep as I had a very long day and my eyes are closing.....I will try and call everyone as soon as I get a chance 😉
