Bonjour

Very early morning wake up call of 5.15am to catch the tour bus from London. The trip to Dover was a smooth one as was the Ferry Crossing to Calais in France. Looking back on the White Cliffs of Dover was a sight to see. In Dover customs randomly selected 6 bags from the bus and hey we were one of them. Robert was scanned but with no problems this time.

Forgot to mention when Robert went through the security check scanners he has beeped every time except this time. Hannah was pulled over to the side in Frankfurt too, they checked over her Nintendo for drugs, but of course there were none.

Drove to Vimy Ridge to see the MASSIVE Victory Statue commemorating the Canadians "Taking the Hill" in World War 1. This was a very MAJESTIC sight. You can see where the trenches were in the fields.

Then down to Paris driving straight to our Hotel. Our room at the Pullman Hotel is absolutely wonderful, heaps of room, lovely beds, Hannah reckons it is very much like being at home, it even has a hallway.

We took an excursion last nite on a riverboat cruise down the Seine River with commentry about all the tourist attractions along the edge of the river. And there are lots of them. The buildings have so much history to them. The architecture (1700s/1800s) once again is FANTASTIC to say the least. Many built in the Neo classical style. At the end of the riverboat cruise we saw the Eiffel Tower at nite. The tower was illuminated with thousands of lites all over it with a search lite going around at the top, WOW that was really cool.

Our tour bus and guide (Mike) took us around the Arc de Triomphe and down The Champs Elysee showing us the up market shops - Cartier Jewellers, Louis Viutton, Gucci, Emporio Amarni, D & G and other tourist attractions such as The Ritz Hotel, Notre Dame Cathedral, The Louvre, The Railway Station now a museum, Twin Clock Towers, and not forgetting McDonalds in amongst them all. Also all the major car dealers have shops their too, Mercedes, Peaugot, Porsche, Toyota, Lamborgeni, etc. Another WOW. (Excuse the spelling).

Today, Hannah's birthday, we spent up The Eiffel Tower and then at The Louvre looking at The Mona Lisa. Then of course did a bit of shopping and had Crepes for tea. Suppose to be having an early nite tonite as we leave for Lake Lurcerne in Switzerland tomorrow, but haven't got there yet.

Hello to everyone and Merci to those who wished Hannah a happy birthday she really enjoyed those emails. She enjoyed her day in PARIS.

Au revoir
