Now can I tell you about eating well I'm gonna tell ya anyway!!! Ok I will start with the portions well now um well they are HUGE!!! Over to Mum now!!!!! Our flight from London to LA was great, lots of leg room and the inflight entertainment kept us all quiet for hours making the flight go so quickly. LA is enormous. Looking out the plane window the surrounding cities seem to go on and on. We blobbed out on our first day here, Hannah was itching to get into Castaway Cove (the kids swimming area at the Hotel) ... read more

Hi there Well its our last day in London and our last blog from the other side of the world. We are off to Los Angeles tomorrow. We have had a great time here. The Stomp show was A-MA-ZING, FUNNY, INTENSE, LOUD, very well done, they made music out of all sorts. Newspaper, lighters, brooms, rubbish bin lids, plastic shopping bags, paint tins, rubber pipes, etc, etc, etc. We all really enjoyed it, have not laughed so much and would recommend you going to see it if you get the chance. The LONDON EYE well what a view, both Hannah and Robert enjoyed walking all around the pod while Marion sat very still on the sit in the middle. We had blue skies for our ride and could see for miles and miles. The TOWER OF ... read more

Hello from London Don't tell Robert but I must admit that our flight from Rome to London on the British Airway plane was very comfortable, had heaps of leg room and the seats are wider (suits my B O T tom). Our pickup driver turned up missing, he went to the wrong terminal oooppps, but never mind we eventually met up with him. His boot was not large enough for all our luggage tho. LOL. We have had a great couple of days here in London. Madame Tussauds - most of the figures were very realistic - got sucked into believing one was a real tourist taking a photo LOL - well worth the money. Harrods - well wot can I say Hannah and Robert were in their element - if you couldn't buy something for ... read more

Boungiorno from Venice, Florence & Rome Arrived in Venice after a long journey on the bus, and as we said it had been raining so much that our gondolar ride was postponed until tomorrow (not sure what the day is - who needs a calendar when you are on holiday). Parked cars had water up to their axles in places. We had a late tea together and off to bed for another early start. Water levels had dropped over nite so we were able to go on the gondolar ride. There were 5 to a gondolar and we cruised down a street in Venice, some gondolars were serenaded with old Italian songs such as Santa Lucia and a guy playing the accordian, it took you back in time, very romantic setting. It was great. Water everywhere ... read more

Boungiourno from Switzerland Csi, we made it to Switzerland!!! How was our ride??? LLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNGGG. Yes we had an early start today, the trip from Paris to Switzerland was 582 kilometres. Lots of sleeping done on the bus. But it was worth it, Switzerland is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Very mountainious and it was cool. We went on a boat cruise around Lake Lucerne looking at all the very rich homes and Castles around the lakeside. The lake is about 20 miles long and 7 miles wide and has about 4,000 sailboats which sail on it. We had a lovely meal that nite at the Hotel with our other travellers. Enjoyed hitting the bed last nite and we all slept well. 5.45am wake up call the next day to go on our excursion up the Stansehorn Mountain. We travelled ... read more

Bonjour Very early morning wake up call of 5.15am to catch the tour bus from London. The trip to Dover was a smooth one as was the Ferry Crossing to Calais in France. Looking back on the White Cliffs of Dover was a sight to see. In Dover customs randomly selected 6 bags from the bus and hey we were one of them. Robert was scanned but with no problems this time. Forgot to mention when Robert went through the security check scanners he has beeped every time except this time. Hannah was pulled over to the side in Frankfurt too, they checked over her Nintendo for drugs, but of course there were none. Drove to Vimy Ridge to see the MASSIVE Victory Statue commemorating the Canadians "Taking the Hill" in World War 1. This was ... read more

The drive fromn Liverpool to Warwick went without a hitch, once again the GPS has been invaluable. We spent the day (5 Hrs and could have spent more time) at Warwick Castle. What a great tourist spot. Heaps of history to soak up there. Loved the way the people dressed up in costume and role played people of that era. Hannah took the chance to dress up as a Princess at Princess Tower, Robert really enjoyed the Dungeon Tour - gorey, very dark, realistic, informative - not for the whimpish thats for sure (Hannah and Marion didn't go). Marion enjoyed looking at the different rooms and decor inside the castle. We all went up and down the 530 steps that took us over the ramparts and towers, Hannah and Marion had sore legs the next day. ... read more

What a great day we have had today. Decided to stay in Liverpool an extra nite as there is too much to do in only 2 nites. Hannah wanted to go on the Wacker Quacker - anyone know what this is??? It took us on a tour of Liverpool showing us some of the beautiful old buildings, churches, cathredrals, and city monuments. Fantastic architecture. Then we entered the waters of the Albert Docks and were shown around the area with all the old warehouses which are now converted into apartments, shops and hotels. We then headed off to a laundrette. Now that was something new, we hadn't done our laundry in a laundrette before. It is a relaxing time really, nothing to do but watch the laundry go round and round. Then off to the Williamson ... read more

Our flight from Hong Kong to Manchester with Lufthansa was a day flight so we didn't need to sleep too much. Although Hannah's body clock was confused and she slept absolutely anywhere she could and at times was a wlking zombie. It was a 747 plane but didn't have any inflight entertainment like Air NZ, it did have radio and movies on a big screen. Hannah watched The Tale of Desperaux, Night at the Museum 2 and Confessions of a Shop Aholic The German hosties were very friendly, although their English was not to brag about, talk about eat, they fed us with so much food we couldn't eat the last meal, and the booze was flowing very freely as well. Robert enjoyed a couple or three beers - "Wersteiner" very nice he said, more than ... read more
