In my photography class
It is Monday September 7, 2009. I started my first day of school! 😊 Today was Spanish 4 at 9:30-10:35, Spanish Conversation at 12:40-1:45, and dance at 5:15-6:30 pm. My schedule is pretty spread out. Classes aren't too bad. I have a little bit of homework already, but not too much. I went to see Alex and Bri's apartment. Lucky me!- They had 3 of the books that I needed to buy at their apartment, so I only had to buy one more. We made it to the bookstore a minute before it closed (whew!) and I bought the one book that I needed. It was only 12 euro. Not bad! I spent 20 USD for all my books this semester! After book-buying, we stopped at an heladeria that we ran into on the way back to the metro stop. It was so cute! I ate yummy minta con chocolate (mint chip) helado. My favorite flavor! 😊 Then, I made it back home just in time for dinner. Haha. I would say the most frustrating thing so far in Spain is getting money. Banks in the US need to understand that when you tell them "I will be in Spain and traveling in Europe for 4 months. Is there anything special I should do?"... it translates to: "Please do not freeze my bank account while I am gone." I had rent due and my housing deposit due. Also, the limit to withdraw is 2oo euro, so it makes it difficult to get all the money out that I need for rent AND it gives me more transaction fees from the bank.

It is Tuesday September 8, 2009. Nothing special happened today. I ate at the school cafeteria. It is pretty good. Good for the price 😉 A lot of the food is really cheap, because the school is public, so the government keeps the prices low. Good example: perrito caliente (hot dog) for 1 euro (about $1.45).

so happy!
It warms my heart to hear about your stay in Spain! You are one lucky lady--although I know that your brains and hard work helped out a little...just a little! ha ha ha! Be careful of those Spanish guys! They are going to flip over you, but just play it cool and have fun. the paella and sangria and tapas are to die for! so don't you eat thos "perritos calientes" anymore! you are in Spain! It does my heart good to see you really enjoying life, while getting such an awesome education too! All I can say is "please remember us when you are in your glory", okay? God bless you mija, love, tia Susanna
