The next day the 24 of June I went for a bike ride with Matt (Ryan’s younger brother) and his good friend Justo through the old rail road trail nearby their house in Colchester Connecticut. It was a really nice ride and kind of reminded me of riding through the Kentlyn bush or something like that back home.

After getting home me and Ryan headed to the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. We got special passes that gave us a bit of discount from the library. The aquarium was pretty neat, quite similar to the Sydney aquarium - where you could see fish swimming over your head or as you walked past. There were rock pools where the kids got to touch the fish.

Also there were bigger pools for the seals and whales. We had a nice walk around the aquarium then we headed into Mystic city centre to have delicious Pizza at Mystic Pizza - also where the film Mystic Pizza was filmed. We shared a pizza - it was pretty filling actually.

On the way home we stopped off at Walmart where I got my souvenir - an external hard drive of 1 terabyte for 126USD.

When we got home I took the bike out and explored the nearby roads and found all this really cool abandoned construction sites which was quite cool with all these abandoned cranes.

The 25 of June me and Ryan headed to Foxwood’s the biggest casino in Connecitcut. There was a nice exhibition, a permanent one there that details the lives of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal people who started the casino. It showed a lot of information not only of the Mashantucket people but of the American Indians historical. It reminded me something similar of the Aboriginal Australians.

Afterwards we went to the casino itself and to another exhibition which was called Bodies Revealed. It was quite controversial but very interesting to see. It showed human bodies cut up and preserved in very different ways. I found it really interesting to see the human body cut up across ways. I had never seen this before and it made it look like the human body was composed of a lot of different size steaks!
Weird.

For those interested the controversy arose because of the question of where the bodies came from. It was speculated that the bodies came from an illegal black market in China where the corpses from Chinese prisons were being sold off for this exhibition.
