Today was great! Linda and I drove down toward Paxson to visit a place called the glory hole. It is one place where the salmon spawn, and they are pretty fun to watch. On the way down we saw Duane in his truck going our same direction, and stopped to have lunch with him in Delta Junction. We saw plenty of red salmon swimming upstream, and as the days keep going by they will become even more densely packed in the river. Piffert (Emmert's dog) came along too and kept us company. I'm not usually a dog guy, but this is a pretty cool dog. That took a good portion of our afternoon and evening, and we were pretty tired by the time we got home.

This morning I sent out a huge box of stuff home. Unfortunately I will beat the package home, since it will take 3-5 weeks to get there. What do these guys do at the post office all day? I just have to poke fun every once in a while...that one goes out to my dad. And Dad, rest assured I contributed to your retirement check today.

Tonight I booked a flight home, even though I haven't received the motorcycle title in the mail. It was supposed to be here by Thursday, and here we are already at Saturday with nothing that resembles a title. So what I'm going to do is have Duane and Linda send the title right back to Oregon when it arrives, and then I will sign it and send it to the guy that bought the bike. I know that seems like a lot miles traveled for the title, but originally I didn't know what was going to happen to the bike. But it should all still work out, since the new owner doesn't need the title right away.

I was almost able to book a redeye flight home tonight, but I was about 5 minutes too late. Oh well, at this point I know everything is supposed to happen for a reason. Sometimes it isn't clear why, but I just go with it and see what happens. So I fly out tomorrow night with a 3-hour delay in Anchorage, and then on to Portland. Overall I've really been blessed on this trip, and couldn't have asked for a better ending after having bike problems.

I may post one more brief entry once I get home.

Your Fantastic Trip
Hi Mike: We met in Dawson at the campground where the four of us were staying. Wendy and I really enjoyed visiting with you. When I got home, I was able to find your blog and read about your amazing adventure. I am sorry the bike repairs just didn't work out the way you wanted them to do. Your bike trip really is an accomplishment. It might have taken a different turn at the end, but you saw a huge amount of beautiful country and met some great people. Your trip is an inspiration to me and I hope one day to do even a fraction of what you have achieved. I think about your journey when I am out riding on my motorcycle. Our trip ended well. We saw Inuvik/Tuktoyaktuk, Norman Well, and Yellowknife and then flew back home. Our luck held and we had good weather the whole time. It was a pleasure to have met you. Well done!!! Regards, Janine
