Hey Everybody. It may seem to you that all we're doing is sitting in front of a computer adding blog entries but its raining right now so we have an excuse. Plus the computer we were on yesterday wouldn't let us upload photos and we really wanted to get a couple of photos on the site.

Yesterday we drove to Kaikoura in our Spaceship. Our spaceship is called Baker. They name each one. They are actually very cool. They have a huge water container and pump and a gas grill and the bed is decently sized. Pictured is Michelle cooking some yummy supper. Kaikoura is a small oceanside town mostly driven by tourism where you can go whale watching, check out the Seal Colony, or do what did this morning; go swimming with Dusky Dolphins!

The tour started at 5:30am :ยท. You get fitted in wetsuits and snokelling gear and then push out to sea with about 20 other swimmers. It only took about 20 minutes and we were in the midst of about 200 dolphins! It was a very cool experience. The operators instuct you to "make yourself interesting" to the dophins since they dont have to hang around if they don't want to. Things that attract dolphins: making eye contact and spinning in circles, diving below the surface, and making wierd noises. I can't dive deep very well because i tend to swallow water from my snorket tube so I made some noises I thought dolphins would like and when got close I would spin and the dolphin would circle me as i spun. It appears as though they really like that game. It was amazing how close they got. After several spinning sessions however, I didn't feel so hot and went to boat. One thing about nausea on the sea is that getting on boats makes it worse so I stayed up there and threw up for the remainder up the trip. We were really happy to have the waterproof case for this experience. One out of 10 pictures turned out but Michelle took about 100 pictures so we ended up with some really good ones.

We are now leaving to Abel Tasmen for some sea kayaking. Later skaters.

Three cheers for underwater camera cases!
That photo rocks! I take back all ridicule, both said and unsaid. I want one. And a time machine to go back in time to when it would have been useful for me. Looking forward to pics on the reef!
