Niagara Falls, ON
Sarah and Anna @ Ruby Tuesday Restaurant (on the horrible mini-Vegas Strip!) So I have to say that driving into Toronto was one of the scariest things that we’ve ever done. Careening around the expressway with an overloaded car and an occasionally retarded GPS - now there’s something to get the adrenaline pumping and the sqabbles going! We love our GPS and we hate it. It’s wonderful, but for gods’ sake - don’t forget your MAP and some COMMON SENSE, ‘cause the GPS can be awfully short on the latter at times…
But hey, the beauty of Niagara Falls and the winery routes made navigating the perils of the TO highways TWICE (had to double back) worthwhile. We emptied out a bunch of stuff from the car so that Sarah (Anna’s sis) would fit in the car for the ride and off we went. Lovely day trip. Andrea was so appalled by the mini-Vegas abomination that is the town of Niagara that it was a little funny. She was expecting a picturesque little tourist town akin to Banff or Jasper - wow is that not what we found! But hey, the blaring music, bright lights and animated effigies were worth bearing for a close look at the falls. We really enjoyed our
tour aboard the Maid of the Mist - we floated close enough to the falls to be pelted by spray heavy enough to make us feel like we were in a violent rain storm - yaye for goofy ponchos
!
We stopped at Niagara-on-the-Lake on the way back to TO and it was more the cute little town we were looking to enjoy. Pretty and peaceful views of the water, good food and good wine. We had a great time with Sarah too - so glad to have such lovely and vivacious company!
We just noticed that we don't have any pics of Toronto.....meh! Who needs 'em?
