Afterall, we are not going anymore!

The ill-fated Bali trip was supposed to take place tomorrow, 23rd July 2009 but it was never realized due to a sudden turn of events both in Indonesia and at home. While Jakarta hotels were in the limelight for the bombings, the same spotlight was shone on 3 of us by outsiders who weren’t involved in the trip to begin with. Afterall, we tried our best to reassure ourselves and others that things would be alright.

Afterall, our hotel was no Ritz Carlton nor JW Mariott. Afterall, we are not staying at the Kuta Beach where it witnessed the worst of the 2002 bombings. Afterall, I have decided to revise our itinerary for the safety of everybody. Afterall, we decided to steer clear of Kuta Beach.

Afterall, we are not going anymore!

It has been a long time since 20th March 2009 when we booked our air-tickets for the ill-fated trip. We had heard great things of the island. Months of anticipation brought us to July 2009 when we were ready to spread our wings to the resort island. It was more than 3 years since the 3 of us traveled together.

I had wanted to share our wonderful memories and pictures of the setting sun in Tuban Beach. For now, I could only look at the Valuair air-tickets and the Indonesian Rupiahs blankly.

While I appreciate the concerns from the members of public, please bear in mind that Bali is no Jakarta. Please do not mix up the 2 places together. And folks, please go for your Geography refresher course if you must. I'm not going to laugh at you!
