My BIG Splurge!!!!My BIG Splurge!!!!My BIG Splurge!!!!

The plate looks huge with the whole lobster, but it wasn't very much to eat!! It really good though!!
Arriving in Zanzibar, you have to be sharp and quick. The touts will ran to you and start their selling almost as soon as you dock. Thankfully, I successfully navigated through them and since it was getting dark, headed straight to a cab stand to have someone take me to the hostel in Stone Town where my friends were staying. Since my phne was stolen I wasn't able to call them to even let them know I was on the way. Last we spoke, I told them I would arrive at 4pm from the "slow" ferry and they were goimg to meet me at the port. So they probably thought when I wasn't there, that I had changed my mind.
With some difficulty, my driver was able to find the hostel. It was disturbing to drive around Stone Town lost for 30 minutes and even more so when I realized that the place was only a 15 minute walk if I knew where I was going. Hmmph.
Sure enough, when I arrived my friends were not there so it was a minor miracle I was able to convince the front desk I really belonged in their room. He finally did and I was able to drop my bag, freshen up and head out to look for food.
After that 7.5 hr journey, I thought I needed a treat so I splurged big time with this 400g lobster dinner at Archipelango's. Too bad you can't see the beautiful view of the sea over my shoulder. This dinner with lobster appetizer, dessert and drinks ended up costing around 18 USD. A big splurge indeed, even here in Zanzibar!
