Bikes!
In most streets in Oxford, you can't drive a car, so most people bike! After a long night of restless sleep I got up at what seemed to be way TOO early for a Saturday morning. But I did my thing and had my coffee and cereal and got ready for a trip to Oxford! It was absolutely wonderful. So, antique and beautiful. Basically Oxford was different from what i thought it was. I thought it was one big school, but it really is an elite association of colleges and no matter what school a person attends, the degree says Oxford University. Also, I found out HOW "expensive" it is to attend an Oxford school. It only costs 1,000 - 3,000 GBpounds a year. That means that it costs only $6,000 American dollars to attend! So, remind me then why i am going to school where it costs me about $26,000 a year!?!?!?!? MMmmm...food for thought. However, the classes are pretty much one on one independent study type of classes. After we got off the coach, the tour guide paraded us around the town looking at various colleges. First we went to a random college resident hall and walked around it. We got to go into the kitchen and dining hall and it was really

cool window old and interesting. Kind of reminded me of Yale, but a whole heck of a lot older! Then we walked to the Botanical Gardens, which would have looked ten times better had it been spring. Then, we walked by Christ Church, the building that they filmed Harry Potter. But I didn't go in because it cost money, and I really don't care too much for Harry Potter. We also walked through one of the coolest markets I have been to since I got to Europe. However, there was a very disturbing meat market. Then, the guide left us, so we were able to explore the city by ourselves. That was nice, because it was lunch and we all were hungry. We actually had some delicious sandwices from a pastry shop. Then, we went to find Alice's sheep shop, because this is where the book Alice in Wonderland was written. But the Sheep Shop was a blow, because it was talked about in all the handouts we received about Oxford and I thought it would be more like a museum than a corny souvenir shop. After I went there I then decided to walk around some more and stumbled upon a
church that was having a Greek Bizarre. Then, I went to the souvenir shops to make some purchases. It was nice because all the clothing was on sale and i even got another discount off because i was a student. The lady said it didn't matter where I went to school as long as i could show a valid student ID, so I used my ISIC Card and it worked!!! After my shopping exersion, I went to the Acropalyse, the art museum there, because the brochures said that they had some Raphael's there. I walked around forever looking for the Raphael's and finally asked somebody for them. Well, unfortunately they did not have any paintings, only his prints!!!!!! EVEN BETTER! But unfortunately to see the Raphael prints you must call in advance. But, they let me go to the print room and let me look at someone else's and I must say that was
