i left san luis obispo this morning around 10, and headed out on the 1 for oakland and sf. i had a wonderful drive through morro bay, san simeon, then up and around the cliffs of the 1 to big sur. i got out in big sur, stretched my legs, got some coffee, and met the most awesome older hippie dude, terry. terry has been a big sur native since the late 70s, i talked with him a little about surfing and what there was to do out in big sur. he gave me a few pieces of jade from around the parks and a few other things to aid me on my trip to alaska.
i stopped in santa cruz for a minute to get a bite to eat and ride my bike around but it started raining upon arrival, boo. also i couldnt get a hold of any of my friends because some silly person cut some kind of fiberoptic cable earlier that day, which in turn cut off all cell phone service and internet connection in the santa cruz, santa clara, and monterey area. so i hopped back on the road towards oakland, right in the middle of rush hour traffic. i made it to codys around 630 and had some dinner and then planned our night.

i'm so glad you took the 1 from slo! you know i wanna alive in morro bay?! that's one of my favorite drives and scenes in the world- big sur w/ mtns dropping into the sea... glorious. if for some silly reason you go to the wharf in sf call my friend drew flores 415 412 8234 (since 1st grade) and have him draw your caricature- he's been a street artist out there for about 15 years. and go to glide on sunday @ 11am for a huge dose of goodness love and rockin gospel. miss/love you!
