This is the courtyard of the little restaurant tucked away just off the town square. I had a fabulous meal there.

I was nearly finished uploading the photos yesterday in the internet cafe when there was a sudden power-cut and we were plunged into darkness. It only lasted less than a minute but it seemed ages. I gave up then but managed to edit them this morning.
I found a lovely restaurant for lunch tucked away off the main square; it was a little oasis with its own courtyard and looked like it was formerly someone's house. I had homemade mushroom soup followed by the Plata del Dia (beefsteak, ice with coconut, fried plantain, and salad) with mango juice - it was lovely and all for less than 4 pounds!
'Went with Dan back to the police station, where we were informed that we needed to report to a different station the other side of town. They only dealt with stolen mobile phones there. We eventually fund the other station which turned out to be the police headquarters. After some discussion and passing from one to another, they said that the place we came from should have dealt with it. They said they'd drive us back there, so we got into one of the police vans and two of

them escorted back there. They went in with us but after some further discussion it turned out that neither place had the correct forms and we had to go to the Notiary Office. They took us there but as we were driving along I could hear some muffled shouting coming from the back of the van; I looked behind me through the separating wired glass and saw a prisoner in the back gesticulating and shouting - they had picked up a prisoner while we were in the police station! They went in with us to the Notiary Office, which turned out to be less than 100yds from the hotel, and explained our situation to the officer there. The place was crowded with people getting various forms registered and signed. We jumped the queue and it plain sailing after that. It did, however, take nearly a further hour to get the form completed - they needed all my personal details as well as those of the camera. After paying the standard $10,000 for the form, I was glad it was done, even though it took up the entire afternoon.
Later in the evening I went out with Dan, Elsie and Malena

'Had left some laundry yesterday but noticed this morning I was given back someone else's trousers - 'took them back, but still have to get my own! 'Had my usual breakfast in a cafe just off the main square and got my shoes shined by one of the many shoe polishers who lined one side of the square. I decided to leave this afternoon and catch the night coach down to Bogota. I should arrive there early tomorrow morning.
