1: Fassnacht in Mannheim 12 secs
Although Köln is where it is at in Germany for Fassnacht (Mardi Gras), other cities have their own celebration. The city of Mannheim takes turns with Ludwigshafen and this year, Mannheim was the host.
It is pretty much like every other festival in Mannheim: ie, The Fall festival, Christmas Market, Spring Festival, Festival festival... except it extends down through the Stroh Markt. It is basically like Halloween, in terms of people getting dressed up but what makes it special is that their are clubs that people join to plan beer tents. Each club has their own beer tent.

Huh?
Of course dp and I are interested in the man in the keg costume. But, we're a little horrified. Is it pee or beer that comes out of the tap? xoxo
