I started school in Seville. I have four classes each day from 9:55 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. I have History of Spain, Grammar, Short Stories, and Art History. I am thinking twice as hard in my classes because EVERYTHING is in Spanish. It is really good though.

I live with a single older woman, Ana Franco Conde, in a tiny apartment. It is a 15 minute walk across the bridge from the school. I live in a neighborhood called “Los Remedios.”

I eat my three meals at Ana’s apartment. Breakfast is always a piece of toast with tea. Lunch is the biggest meal, at 2:30 p.m., so there is the main dish with a salad and a piece of fruit for dessert. Dinner is served at 9:30 p.m. and is another light meal. The meal is usually vegetables or eggs with bread.

I have lots of time after lunch during the siesta to do homework, go for a run by the river, shop, and meet up with the other students. The night life is also so different. The city becomes alive by 11:00 p.m. and lasts until the early morning. It is great. People spend their time walking up and down the streets and meeting up in the bars.

Bar Hop
So are your parents actuallly paying for you to go "bar-hopping" with a group of guys. Hmmm. Your living arrangement looks interesting--I'm sure there will be quite a few stories to go along with that. When we were in Spain, we also noticed how everything comes alive at night.

Starting School,
So things come alive about 22:00 and go until dawn. How long is that siesta? And if you run or do homework while everyone else is napping, when do you sleep? I enjoyed Spanish Literature when I was in college, and yes, I did read it in Spanish. Made an A in the class as I recall. An interesting group of companions, missy.

opps
So I was going to write to you in that other letter, but I accidently hit the enter key instead of the tab key! It sounds like you are having a great time. I really like looking at all the pictures of Spain and reading your updates! I hope that you are meeting a lot of cool people and getting to know the spanish language. This past weekend was J-term break. I went to Justin's house and we went snowboarding and it was a lot of fun! I am really really sore though. That just goes to show how much exercise I do :). It's good to be back though at I am ready to start my spring semester! I hope you are having a great time. I love you and am praying for you babe!! Jessie

Whats the ratio of guys to girls?
Okay I had to laugh at you the lone girl with all those guys. You are gonna make your Dad concerned! The apartment is nice and neat but small, was the washing machine and dryer in the kitchen???? So interesting. So you are going to get to know your roommate (the older lady) really well, sharing a bedroom. Thanks for all the pics! How beautiful and peaceful looking. See how many Carrera's you can find in the phone book... family history has it that Joel's grandfather's family is from Spain...
