Scott flew into Sydney and we automatically jumped into our rental car and headed to the Hunter Valley. Let me give the back story of Scott and Sheridan. We all met in Mexico last May and we hit it off. These people are great. They make me laugh and feel good. They are just genuinely fantastic. Both are from the Melbourne area and both spent the money to fly out and spend some time with my while I was in their country. Nothing makes a person feel better then to have friends fly across a country to see them. Scott decided to meet me in Sydney and spend four days driving up to Byron Bay and Sheridan flew into Byron where we all three spent five nights together.

Scott and I spent a couple nights in the Hunter Valley drinking wine, enjoying sunsets, soaking in the hot tub, and fixing delicious bbq (well he did the bbq..I just ate) The Hunter Valley is this magical little escape in Australia with beautiful vineyards and a laid back attitude. I could spend weeks there. From there we headed to Port Stephens where we took a dolphin cruise and I ghetto rigged my grandma’s spaghetti casserole with a skillet and a microwave. Our last day we drove thru Port Macqaurie where we walked around and enjoyed the lookout and we eventually ended up in Coff’s Harbour, home of the Big Banana and another great walk around the beach. Those four days with Scott were perfect. Beautiful sights and good company.

We ended up in Byron Bay to the sound of Sheridan’s very loud voice and big hugs. This girl is one of the most interesting characters I've ever met. She has this charisma that makes you want to be around her. She is loud and funny and blunt and oh my goodness the girl does anything she wants to do without any holds barred. The time we spent together we learned all about the healing effects of pharmaceutical grade silver from a crazy guy named Shawn (don’t ask) and went to the infamous Nimbin which is either the sleaziest place or the wierdest place Ive ever been to (can we say time warp) Sheridan and I attempted to surf on cyclone waves (I got a real live surf injury..it was very minor) and we had the best five days of debauchery and good clean fun of my whole trip.

Now I'm onto the next stage of my trip. Katie and one of the Goon 8 (David) are my new group. We rented a caravan and we start our journey up the coast tomorrow. We had a night of Goon Pong the night before last with a Danish guy and English guy from our room which quickly escalated into half the hostel playing which proved to me there is fun to be had post Sheridan and Scott. In conclusion, Australia is as I remember it…. Perfect.
