Looking like someone you know?Looking like someone you know?Looking like someone you know?

The hair has gotten long and I'm not doing a whole lot of shaving. As such, I get a frequent comparison to a certain religious figure.
I jumped back on a bus for Buenos Aires before heading over to Montevideo for my flight to give the wonderful, enormous capital another try. Of course, it didn't disappoint. The more time you spend in a city like this, the more you come to adore it. It definitely has some not so glamorous aspects, such as the noise and pollution that comes with any big city, but it more than makes up for it. This time I spent a few nights using up the rest of my Marriott points, a left over luxury from my time as a worker bee traveling from coast to coast in the IT industry, and got to know the more glamorous Retiro area. Otherwise, I just wasted a few more days away in the fashion of a weery traveler just waiting for his flight not wanting anything more than a place to chill and read and, perhaps, enjoy a few glasses of wine. Its not too much to ask from life, but Ive come to appreciate that more and more after seeing sights for the last thirteen months.

So, after a boat to Montevideo, a bus to the airport, a flight to San Salvador, another to D.C., and finally one into snowy, blustery Chicago, I made it back to the midwest and am bearing the unpleasantly cold weather. Its been a long time since Ive been in a winter, and it isnt a welcomed feeling. But, I found an apartment in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, right near my friend Rytas from my Kilimanjaro adventure, Im figuring out school stuff (I'm registering at Northwestern for prereqs and hoping to go to medical school shortly) and letting my feet grow roots again in the "real world."

This is going to be my last travel blog for a while, but whenever I make a trip worthy of note Ill jot something down and put up a few photos. I hope everyone enjoyed reading about my adventures through 15 countries via 23 flights over 396 days as much as I enjoyed publishing the 77 blogs and 1,201 photos (thought Id mention a few stats real fast!). If Ive never met you previously, I hope I didn't come off too harsh/erratic/preachy/whatever, and if you don't want any more updates on my life, feel free to unsubscribe, those that do, no worries, you'll get them an hopefully we meet someday! Those who I do know, and who have been following my trip for the last thirteen months, I hope you aren't sick of hearing, or reading, what I have to say and that I'll be hearing from you soon... same cell phone as before!

And, well, as Forrest Gump said so eloquently, "That's all I have to say about that."

career move
forget about being a doctor. You should be an entertainer as you already look like someone famous (even if a religious figure) and you have the wit and personality to get people to listen to you. How about a TV show called " Where in the World is Kyle Bernard" There are still 150 plus countries to visit. Good luck on your journey.
