Happy New Year!Happy New Year!Happy New Year!

The Walter Famdamily feeling a little "frisky".
Aloha Everyone! And Mahalo (Thank you) to all of our friends and family that were able to make it to our Washington Wedding Reception in Mukilteo. We had a great time spending time with everyone in Washington and much of this road trip would not be possible if it were not for you. So one more time, Mahalo!

Now on to the good stuff. Technically we started this road trip on December 28th as we left Claremont, California and headed North to the land of snow and record-breaking rainfall (Seriously, 35 days and counting). We stayed in Sacramento for a night with Andrea (Grover) and Christ Bergquist. Unfortunately, we were just getting the tires on the car and forgot to take pictures. The locals showed us a great time in the California State capital. The sushi was scrumptious, the capital building glowed, old town provided shooting practice, and the night ended at Sacramento's famous dive bar (It was the end of the night, can't remember the name).

After Sacramento we cruised through Oregon on I5 and met the rest of the Walter Clan in Mt. Hood, Oregon. We celebrated New Year's on Mt. Hood with the famdamily and "Big"

Josh and Michelle Wright. There is no better way to ring in the New Year than sledding down a sky slope on an inner tube at 2AM. And damn that snow tastes good! After some cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, we were off to Portland. If you are ever in the Portland area definitely check out any of the McMenamen's properties - www.mcmenamins.com. We made it to the Kennedy School, where the "Terminator" went down like syrup. Mmmm, syrup beer.

Next up, "MUK" "IL" "TEOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" My (Josh's) homeland. No amount of rain could stop the great times with family and friends. We had the most amazing time with everyone. Thank you all! Go Knights! Go Silvertips! And Go SEAHAWKS!!! (I probably just jinxed 'em. Sorry). However, like aboriginal wonderers, we only took mental pictures, so you will have to imagine the "fry platter" and "faucet kegs" at the Mukilteo Buzz Inn. If you ever go, tell them Josh sent you and wait for the sure reply "which one?" No time is ever enough when you are with good friends and loving family, but the Oregon Coast beckoned and quite frankly our toes were growing webs.

fireplace
I am glad you had such a great time on your trip. What makes me especially happy is seeing the fireplace RC sat in front of and keenly observed the comings and goings of the fire, and then realized how it relates to everything else in life. I knew that fireplace would come again.
