Argentina
Perito Morino Glacier Unfortunately I´ve only really had a very quick taste of Argentina. After Tores Del Paine we crossed over from Chile to explore Argentina´s Los Glaciares National Park from a small town called El Chaltan. I had never seen a glacier before in my life so to visit the world famous and giant Porito Morino Glacier was brilliant. These massive rivers of frozen ice really are beautiful but it was seriously cold there too. On one of the days I was able to do an ice trek which was one of the best things I have done. It was a full on 12 hour adrenalin packed day which started at 7am and involved a 2 hour hike to the bottom of the glacier where we then had to strap ourselves into a harness and pull ourselves over a torrid river of ice against the crazy winds. We then continued trekking to the ice with our cramnpons attached and got to ice climb a 20m vertical wall. It sure was tough using the picks and kicking your crampons into the ice but I made it to the top and was glad to not fall off and break my coxix again! The winds were

Towering walls of ice blowing so hard and at times I was a little frightened of being blown down a crevice or ice cave. It was seriously crazy.
We then flew to Buenos Airies and I am still recovering from a massive week of partying. BA was an interesting town especially since everyone had raved about it. The areas of Palermo and Recoleta were lovely but the city kind of lacks a central place. We were also told that most Buenos Arians were out of town for their summer holidays so the streets were quieter than usual. New Year wasn´t really celebrated at midnight. Instead it all began at 2am when the streets filled with revellers and the queues for the clubs lengthened. Every night seem to be like New Years in BA and on our final night we hit it so hard that we had no sleep and nearly missed our 9am ferry across to Uruguay. It was in the dock waiting for two very seedy backpackers and we must have looked so bad that the customs guys just waved us through. Very funny.
Now it´s off to Uruguay hopefully for some R&R and to explore some of their beaches.
