Hi,
I cam across your blogs when searching for ideas on a future trip to South America that my wife and I are planning. But then I came across some of your Middle East blogs and read those too, which were especially interesting for me because I've been to many of the places you describe (and if fact work in Qatar). Anyway, your writing style is very good as well as being informative, and so for that reason I pressed the 'recommend' button on your profile. keep up the writing and happy travels.
Hi,
I came across some of your blogs while scoping out a possible South American trip for me and my wife. And I must say they are very readable and informative. In fact, after reading about your epic journey around South America, I read some of your Middle Eastern jaunts too, which were especially interesting as I have been to many of the same places (in fact I live and work in the Middle East.) Anyway, keep up the good work and just so you know, I have reccomended you (a button I pressed in your profile).
Great Blogs Hi Amy,
Hope you are keeping well (obviously you are!). I had a read of your blogs, they are great and Beirut sounds nothing like I had envisaged. Just said I'd comment as it's good to know people actually do read these things!
By the way are you just travelling or is it work related also, I seem to remember you worked for a magazine?
Go Hawthorns!!!

Awesome Ames Wow Ames it's so good to be back on your blog. Great pics. That's great that there are so few tourists.
Can't wait to hear about Beirut, I am guessing you will love it. Enjoy xoxox
Açaí I remember we told you about the açaí... I was sure you would love it.
You did a great choice about the places that you went to.. Enjoy the rest of the trip!!
I agree I thought São Paulo was going to be scarier as well! I was expecting the worst on my trip, because all I hear is that it's dangerous, but when I got there, I thought it was beautiful and felt secure in a lot of areas. We definitely did not go into the bad areas.
Nice picture from the Bank building!
Wow Ames, the Amazon sounds outa this world and reading your blog makes me long to be there, very inspiring. You are clearly having the time of your life. Looking forward to seeing you back in Oz xoxo
Obrigada! Thanks Ames for adding me to your blog list. I was really fascinated by your description of this great city. I too had heard of the ugly side of Sao P but you painted a inspirational piece to fellow travellers of it being a buzzy, fast, modern, magic city. Tino is absolutely envious as he has always wanted to do SP so you are the next best thing to us being there. Keep safe girl and enjoy. Ume beige, MA
Patagonia Hi Gerry,
It really all depends on when you are going. It surprisingly wasn´t very cold when we were there in Dec except for the day of trekking by the glacier but that was to be expected. A good fleese and some thermals for the night should be enough and a lot of wet weather gear.
Florianopolis is really one of the best places in Brazil, if you are looking for Florianopolis info, hotels or activities, take a look at http://www.florianopolis-travel.com.br/
My first passion in life is travel. I love the freedom of backpacking. Arriving in a foreign land and diving head first into the culture and a new environment is a fun, challenging and sponteneous experience. Will I ever be cured of the travel bug? I think not. Life truly is too short so you have to get out there and make the most of it!... full info
