Andy & the Waves
The waves sneaked up behind Andy and soaked his trousers! This morning, was had a leisurely start to the day, after breakfast, Caroline was attempting the crossword and I was enjoying my book.
After I showered and shaved we headed off with a few things that needed doing, but nothing mind blowing. We were looking for an address in Buddina for a company that sold camping trailers, we have still not exhausted this train of thought and as we hadn’t found it we parked the truck up at the shore, got out and get on to the beach, it is truly amazing. A handful of guys are surfing and a couple are down the beach walking a their great Danes, who are heading towards us.
“I hate sand “ the feeling of sand on my feet just makes hairs on my arms stand up, still Caroline is taking pictures so I have to get involved..... We walk up the beach towards Cartwright point where the lighthouse is, there are freighters on the skyline all looking like little ducks in a row.
The heavens open and it starts to pour with rain, (Really pour) we take shelter just around from the lighthouse, there are quite a few people sheltering

The tide recedes, the water is freezing. also. When the rain seems to stop we head out towards the car, halfway back it starts again. Caroline is trying to shelter her camera under her T shirt, I have to take my T shirt off to keep her camera dry, still the rain is warm. Once in the truck we head along the beach road to look at all the beach side properties, some are stunning and most are them are empty as its not summer time quite yet.
We head down towards Buderim, there is a shop called BCF (Boating, Camping & Fishing) we make a couple of important purchases, a 25 litre water container and a 20 litre diesel can that will give us an emergency 260 Kilometre’s should we need it, on top of the 120 litres the two tanks on the Nissan hold.
At lunch time, and this is getting ridiculous, I am taking my wife out to lunch every day, we find a Multiplex type cinema, so we have got tickets to see the new James Bond film to night at 8.45, not bad $31.00 for two tickets, that’s £6.73 per ticket UK.
We head back to the apartment, via
Cartwright Point
Just a view of the beach, the rocks and the sea. the bank, and just take it easy.
The weather is hot, even though it has been cloudy with rain it was still 28 Degree’s and they said tomorrow will be the same and no sunshine until Sunday.
Happy Birthday our dear friend Gary Barber, he and Pikey or Matron “On the Blog” are in India at the moment so he won’t be reading this, Oh and Pikey the beach has squeaky sand (remember Yamba?)
Christmas adverts are on the TV at the moment, and the chritmas tree was up in Brisbane. Strangely enough all the decorations were up in Singapore but at the time it did not relate to Christmas. One of the guys at Gary Crick Nissan said they do not do Turkey in Australia for Christmas, but it is being advertised on T.V.
We go an watch the Movie, “Quantum of Solace” I thinks it is absolutely magic, her ladyship has a little snooze, right in the middle of a dramatic scene, still I did once take her to the NEC to see Bob Dylan and she fell asleep. (fair do's I was absolutely shattered and it was a late viewing - otherwise I
Wrecked
This shipwreck lies just off the coast of Alexandra Headland. I will find out when it was wrecked. Poor picture as the rain was rolling in by then.
would never have fallen asleep while Daniel Craig was on the big screen - gorgeous!)
On route home we text Jane my sister, there seems to be some news concerning my mum, so we have set up a Skype call for 10.00pm Thursday night 27/11, your time.(This is the weird thing I am typing this at 06.30 Friday Morning 28/11 and we have not done the Skype call yet, as of us being 10 hours ahead. I am looking forwards to speaking to Jane, Harry and Lily.
The blog is being kept up religiously, not having internet access is just a pain, still there we go, we will have to just keep going to Starbucks.
I am looking forwards to our Interviews at Australia Zoo, and wonder what that will bring, Ah Tonka and Mini!! I could just feed the animals all day.
Our love to you all.

Wanderlust
Hey I think you two should have secured a contract with the BBC for a travel show - it is so interesting reading this every day and also a great record for you to look back on - I forget some of the things I have done on just a 3 week trip! You ought to write something up for the Wanderlust magazine. Andy your mum looks quite well in the photo which must be so reassuring for you and lovely that she can move nearer to her grandchildren. My mum still looks pretty bad and moans non stop no matter what we do to help. The house sitting sounds an excellent idea and gives you a nice base for Xmas. Is that voluntary work at the Zoo? Might drag myself off on a cold wet day to Gunwharf to see the Bond film and a bit of Xmas shopping - maybe find a bar with some live music tonight. Have fun and hope you enjoy the camping - brilliant being nomadic and such an adventure for you both. I remember Chrissie liking Fraser Island. Love Kxx
