Two weeks in Perth today, and I'm still having a pretty good time!
Homesickness hit hard last week, so I thought I'd wait to post this blog.
I've seen a lot of strange things since coming to Oz, they have a sports-footwear shop here called "Athlete's Foot"! I've not been there, and don't intend to either. I've been drinking a fair amount of Tooheys, but have had to restrict my spending as I want to do so much!
Last Thursday I splashed out on a trip to Rottnest Island just off the coast between Perth and Fremantle. I went with a few people I'd met at the Old Swan Barracks hostel where i'm currently staying. Three of us, Trevor, Katie and I cycled around the island for three hours in the midday heat, got a few photos, then my battery died! Poor planning! Still, the ones I've got I'll be posting a little later.
Right now i'm hunting for a job in the city somewhere, I'm trying retail outlets and construction agencies. There's pretty good money in labouring, and it's not always in the sun!
Yesterday Paul and I went to Cottesloe beach, it was Sunday, so very busy. Paul's from Norfolk, he's been here for about 6 weeks or so. I might well be meeting up with him and a few others from the Barracks to travel along the East coast after Christmas.
Hopefully I'll have more to report next time I add to this blog!

I was skim reading this and for some reason I read the 3rd paragraph as "Three of us died"?? Glad you're having adventures, and don't be home-sick, England's miserable and cold!
