13/10 After spending some time in Amsterdam I headed to Lieden to do my third couch surfing with this guy called Chiel. I ended up having dinner with him and his mates that he was living with. Chiel was studying medicine at the University of Leiden and so were all his roomies - three girls. After dinner we went to a couch surfing meeting which was pretty good i ended up meeting a girl there from Iran. We headed home, talked for a while then went to bed.
The next morning (14/10/08) I woke up at 7:30am. Showered then went sight seeing around
Leiden. Went to the cultural museum. Met Chiel for lunch were we had pizzas for 2e each. Then we walked around the city. We went up to the really round building as I heard this kid call it then up to the botanical gardens. They were nice then headed back to Chiels. He made dinner there and we ended up talking until late in the evening.
The next morning the 15th of October we woke up later as we stayed up until 2am talking. Cheil missed one of his classes. We left together around 12pm and
then I headed
towards the signs for Amsterdam (on my bike). It was 39km from Leiden to Amsterdam.
I rode at least 40km cause I rode the wrong way a few times. Stole some apples from a tree where they were hanging over the fence. The home owner came round to drive their car and I quickly took off for fear of being caught. I stopped past a cathedral and took some photos then later realised I had lost my camera case somewhere and couldnt find it. Went past a supermarket. Stopped there and got some seafood on sale and a bagueete. Then I also got some stroopwaffles. Amazing. I first had them whilst I was working in Zwolle and they were orgasmic then as they were now. Finally made it to Amsterdam - the inner hostel. After 3.5
hours and it was about 4:30pm I got home or maybe to my end destination. I went to inner hostel and bumped into a girl i knew. Packed stuff and quickly checked Internet. it was a bitch walking to walk to tram 1 and carrying all my stuff and I got lost in Vondel park - by the way I was
on my way to move into my new pad in Osdorp. When I got off at the stop I needed to I was met by Karol my new roomie who picked me up from the tram stop and drove me home. I made two trips and on the second trip I locked my bike up in the bike locker. I was home to my new home in Amsterdam!
