First show today. We got to sleep in an extra hour, which was nice, but this morning I discovered something not great about our housing. There are 3 girls on crew- Sarah, Jenn and myself, so they put Prossy in with us so we have full hotel rooms. This is fine, except she was up later than I was last night and I had to leave before she had to be out of bed, so finding things in the dark was a little rough. Prossy and the rest of us keep such different hours, so I hope they get that remedied soon. But, life is always good when the venue brings in (and the hotel has plenty) boxes of fresh Washington apples! Yum!

I did some cueing and things early, then we opened the house for our first audience, for a dress rehearsal of the first act. It was a bit rough, but could have been much worse. There was long awkward pause when one of the girls didn’t make her entrance for a good 10 or 15 seconds, so all the people onstage were looking offstage to see what was going on. Also, it was a bit rougher on my end of things because there weren’t enough ClearCom packs for everyone to have one, so I took my own cues, which is fine, it just makes things a bit more tricky when I can’t communicate with anyone and should be helping Sarah call my stuff. Oh well. It worked.

Then we released the audience (school kids) and ran the second act, which was pretty crazy. Lots of stuff when wrong. It was pretty unfortunate that we had such a limited about of time to run things- as in we’d never done a full run-thru without stopping before our opening show. Yikes! But we made do. Everyone lived, God is good, Sarah did a good job calling the show. Load out is super-fast! After the show, there were some meetings that were a little hard, but we’re learning and moving on and getting better… I hope.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
JENN: What do I do if everything goes bad and is overwhelming?
JAMI: Radio for help, pray, then cry. Don’t cry first. God’s big and will fill in the gaps.
Other things were said here.
JAMI: Good thing God has so many hands!
JENN: And He can see in the dark!

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY:
Starting the day right is important. I have to make sure and get my time with God in first thing! Oh, and also that baby carrots turn white because they dip them in chlorine. Jordan told me things and I have yet to verify it.

HOW TO PRAY:
Traveling tomorrow. Our group dynamics are off- we have a lot of “cooks” in the kitchen right now, plus a lot of extra people who won’t be touring with us. It’s nice to have their support, but maybe the first show isn’t the best for them to see; honestly, sometimes they get in the way. We don’t want our team to be divided. The kids are wiped out- two days of cramming more information than ever thought possible and nonstop work for them. A few days off will be good.

Jami- Woo hoo! You did it! The first show! There is something about just getting to that point....good , bad or otherwise....you just have to get there! I am proud of you....have been praying all week for you....I believe in exactly how God wired you and gifted you! Keep leaning into Jesus.....keep learning....keep loving those God places in your elbow space each day. It may not seem like it at the time...but it is a gift. Can't wait until Sunday! Love ya friend! -amy
