I did it. I found them. Real Cheetos.

This might not seem like a big deal, but really, when you're craving your favorite snack food, and what you find, labeled as thus, is then a China-ized disappointment, the craving only gets worse and more frustrating.
Tonight, after a long day, I checked out the Ole! store near the subway and bus terminal. It was glorious. They had foods I'd forgotten about, like Hamburger Helper and Jelly Bellies (neither of which I eat, but that's not the point). They had lots and lots of kinds of good beer, drinkable hard liquor, and wine that isn't Great Wall. And best of all, REAL Cheetos!
The price is a bit high, it seems. But then, I'm paying for the importing. And per volume, I'm thinking it's comprable to vending machine costs in the US. This is not too much to pay for glorious orange fingers.

In other news, well, events, I had class today. No results on the tests yet. But everytime she called on me I got a, "Hen hao," in return. Not everyone else did. (Hen hao, 很好,means very good.)

After class, James and I went to Decathalon. He's going on a camping trip this weekend and needed a sleeping bag. Trying to figure to which one to get is a challenge. Right now, it's hot. This summer, in Thailand, it will be hotter. But he also wants to go to Tibet and see the base of Everest, which is REALLY cold. And at these prices, no teacher would be foolish enough to purchase more than one sleeping bag. He got the one that goes down to freezing, realizing you can purchase an extra layer (which I'd never seen), sort of a sleeping bag for sleeping bags, and blankets, and probably be quite toasty. Till then, he can sleep on top or with it open.
They also had these amazing tents: you pick them up (all folded up), throw them, and VIOLA insta-tent! It sets itself up! I wanted to try one, but I don't think the store staff would have been too happy with me if I had.
We had dinner at IKEA (justifying our use of their free shuttle) and both got the black forest cake. And ice cream. Again. We need our calcium.

a description of Cheetos
Cheetos (in the States) are a cheese flavored snack food found next to the potato chips at the market. They are made of puffed corn. There are Cheetos "Puffs" which are light and airy in texture, and Cheetos "Crunchy" which making crunching noises when you eat them (like a potato chip). They are covered in orange, sweet-ish cheese flavored powder that turns your finger tips orange when you eat them. They are my favorite snack food and highly addicting.
