Northwest Adventure Day 12

Doesn't look like we went very far but were definitely off the beaten path

Today is all that matters

The day started trying to figure out what day it was and what time it was. Rita thought it was Friday. Jerry thought it was Saturday. The motel had one time, Rita another, and Jerry yet another. At least for the moment, we decided we really didn't care. Having lost all sense of date and time, one realizes how relaxed and outside of reality we are hovering. It is an unbelievable place to be. We realize we are acting like we have not a care in the world. That in itself is worth millions!

So, we decide to focus on today and today alone. We are within an hour of the Canada/U.S. border and decide we will just get going and get across the border. Canada has been awesome but we have also found it somewhat expensive. It was sad to experience the U.S. dollar being worth less than the Canadian dollar. It was very interesting to see the spin Canadians put on the U.S. financial problems. But then, their primary U.S. news channel is CNN. We won't go there or at least Rita won't type out what Jerry had to say about that!

Still trying to figure out what the difference is between Evergreens and Pines.

Jerry's Route

Jerry planned a different route for today. He wanted to see what the scenic routes on the map were like so we took a number of roads on the map that were black lined roads rather than the red bolded ones. Oh my - what an adventure. We went through forest after forest, small town after small town. They were just our kind of roads. You'd think we were lost but we knew we weren't. It was great!!

What happened Badgers??!!

We caught an update to the Wisconsin game from some friends via phone call and were excited hearing they were ahead nineteen to nothing at half time. When we later learned they lost with a tragic second half, Rita could only feel relief that we hadn't actually been sitting anywhere watching the game. It would have been painful as we are sure it was for any of you Wisconsinites having watched it. Getting the final score and finding they lost was depressing enough. To have watched it happen would have been unbearable.

Quiet End to the Day

Today was a day to get closer to the next place of note. The day was fun and full of laughter - things not noteworthy to readers. So, not much more to say. We go to bed still without a definitive plan or route for the morning. Who cares! Tomorrow is another day and we'll find some roads and go where they take us. MMmmm...Packers play tomorrow. What's a couple of Packer fans traveling in Idaho to do?! We'll figure it out tomorrow.

Winery tours continue to be the theme. You would be intoxicated before you could get through even a portion of the winery tours we saw available

Thinkinf Of you
Jerry and Rita, It is great fun reading about your meanderings and hearing what a wonderful, relaxing time the two of you are having. We continue to pray for safe travel for you and good health to enjoy each and every day. Sounds like those prayers are being answered. All is well on the homefront. Even though we miss you - stay away as long as you can and just enjoy. Love, Carl and Jan

WOW this is really great
Thanks for the link! I'm tickled to be "joining" ya'll's adventure before this day clicks off into the chaos. What a refreshing start. Naturally I'm pea-green with envy looking at all the wilderness pictures, opps, that wasn't wilderness, that was Jerry in the morning... Thanks again for the ride. CR
