No visit would be complete without a trip to Milngavie.

I was there for a week and had a few trips into the village. it was interesting going with Granma - every place we looked at she would say "I remember this - that there used to be a bakery which made the best cream cakes" or "that was a weeee sweetie shop that sold such and such" it was great. I think it wouldnt have quite been the same to visit Milngavie without granma being there.

of course the family are all brilliant and had alot of really good stories. Though I admit I am intrigued by some of the things which I've learned about how Granma, Grandad, Dad, Kay and Hector actually lived over here before they left for NZ....certainly an eye opener.

I didnt spend nearly enough time here. So will be going back in a few weeks/months and there will be another blog entry then...for example - I didnt actually go into Glasgow city centre the whole time i was there - for all my "I'm not going to sit round having cups of tea" in the end thats what I did. Spent alot of time in Anne's kitchen having a cuppa and a chat. it was brilliant...

Great
Awesome to see some of the places that Dad used to talk about, I remember them telling us about the waterworks, and it's great to see the town too, better than postcards.
