Chinatown Boston
The place where the tour started...Chinatown Boston After the first week of elation, learning and indulgence in Boston and MIT, the first weekend in America, I set out with my classmates on a tour of Washington DC - the capital of the US. The journey started at Chinatown, Boston, in Sunshine Tours
www.sunshineboston.com. I boarded the bus which set out on a slow pace and looked out the window...the sights and sounds of the boston city waking up (it was 7 am morning). The bus left the sleeping city and what started was a seemingly endless journey with a brief pitstop at virginia. Then the bus set out to the Skyline caverns at Virginia...to catch a glimpse of the naturally formed caverns. The caverns were a sight to watch..the temperature inside was freaking cold (shd be about 4 degrees)...and was great to watch the algae glistening with fluorescence. Despite being warned not to touch any rocks, and a curious geography student that I was, I flicked a rock and brought it home as remembrance, which is still with me. I went down abt 50 metres deep (ballpark figure might be more!) inside the cavern...After the tour was over, I came out and headed right to the souvenir
shop where I bought some luckystones and a cute replica of an indian tent made by ppl from the cherokee indian reservation. Then I headed to the state of Penn where I visited the Liberty Bell, the US mint and some other places in Philadelphia....Then we headed to the capital of the United states - Washington DC...I visited the Jefferson and Lincoln memorial, and then the seat of power - The White House, Capitol Hill, the Obelisk and the places around. Then finally we headed to the outskirts of Washington where we stayed at the Bridgeway Inn. After eating, and a stroll outside, I finally hit the sack at 2 pm wondering what is gonna happen tomorrow - when I will be visiting New York.
