A mission team of 21 Texans arrived in La Joya yesterday afternoon to spend several days doing a medical brigade and construction work. This morning I helped out in the medical clinic, translating a bit for a few nurses taking blood pressure and filling prescriptions. It was fairly steady most of the day, but we only had 2 or 3 medics seeing patients, so often there was a long line of people waiting but not much for me to do. I did have a lovely time chatting with some of the ladies in line though. We talked about where we were from, what I was doing here, family, children, how God is in control of everything...

To be honest I feel very much out of my league with a medical team. The terminology, medicines, procedures, etc. are just above and beyond me (but of course God's taught me that my comfort zone or ability level doesn't matter for what He wants to accomplish, just my willingness to be used by Him). But sharing stories of life with others, listening to them and talking about how amazing is our God - THAT is my heart's song.

Another HUGE STRAIGHT FROM HEAVEN BLESSING today was getting to see MY KIDS!!! There's a group of kids that I fell in love with when I was here last August, and again in January...and I've been waiting to see them since I arrived here a week and a half ago...and they showed up today!! They're kids that live near La Joya and like to hang out when they see a group of gringos has arrived. I was THRILLED to see them today. A team member had brought some soccer balls down with him, so we had a mini soccer game tonight before supper. 😊

All is well. God is PHENOMENOL!!! Love to all!

wonderful
Our God is so amazing. I'm rejoicing with you that "your kids" finally came. I can't imagine why it took them so long. I have fond memories of them gathered around you, singing and listening to the Bible stories on the grass outside the clinic. Have you received any more word about the flooding in Copán? I've been praying for our friends there. Love you! Solana

hi solana!! Priase God, yes the raining stopped! Everyone is OK...and the churches. I heard the Copan river is still very full and there may still be some danger with that... but as far as I know all is fine. Thank you for your prayers!

I'm so glad to hear our friends are all right. Hopefully the health problems with the Tolupanes will be over soon. Enjoy your time with Hannah. How I wish I were there, too! Love and prayers, Solana

WHAT A SURPRISE TO HAVE HANNAH GET OFF THE BUS!!! I was with the kids up by the clinic when the bus arrived. "Es hannah!" One of them shouted. "Vamos a jugar con hanna!" y les dije, "no...Hannah no iba a venir en este viaje." ooops...I was wrong. SOOOO good to have her here!!!

so you hadn't heard?
I am so happy that hannah got to return to La Joya. What a beautiful gift from the Lord through her loving brother Josh.
