Sorry its been so long since my last entry, but the internet is slow as crap here and uploading pictures takes several hours. But heres some updates on my exciting life...

I don't think I have ever seen/heard rain so intense as it is here. It rains so hard that you can't sleep because of it pounding on the roof or go out or anything, then in about 15 minutes its sunny out. Its like the weather has ADD. It doesn't thunderstorm though, just RAIN in sheets. It rained pretty much all day today which kept us from going out to the site. And if you think you are bored back in the States when it rains outside, you have NO IDEA what its like to be here when its rainy. Jason and I were so bored that we made eggs benedict from scratch this morning. Hollandaise sauce and all. It was brilliant.

But besides the rainy day today, I've been pretty busy. To cap off our first week, we celebrated on Friday on Saturday nights. Friday, we went to a pizza place on Paradise Beach, which oddly enough has incredibly good pizza... not the kind of thing you expect from the Carribbean. On Saturday, we went to Paradise Beach again just to hang out and catch some sun, then threw a little party on the balcony when we got back.

On sunday, we went to White Island, a tiny spit of shrubs and sand right off the coast of Carriacou. The guys that took us over only had these little tiny boats and it took like 4 trips to get everyone over there. Once we got there, the same guys went out spearfishing to get us our lunch. I didnt go with them, but a few people did and they said it was awesome to watch. They came back a couple hours later with a whole string of reef fish and cooked them up for us. It was incredibly delicious. It was weird to think that what I was eating had been swimming around just a few hours beforehand. I don't know if the pictures do it complete justice, but the water on White Island is so incredibly clear. You can see straight to the bottom, so the snorkeling was fabulous. So fabulous in fact that I burned the crap out of the back of my legs enjoying it.

yeah so i didnt tell yall about anything i said i would, but i think this stuff was more interesting...

Hey Lauren. I am so glad that you have finally found the "island experience". If you wish, that will be a part of you forever and can become a calming "place" in your life. There's an ol' saying "in the islands, man" and I think you are experiencing the feeling! It truly stays with you and that's a good thing! Hey, did you see the 'Southern Cross' yet?
