I think that I can safely say that we arrived home with mixed emotions. Although we are glad to be home and see our families, we will truly miss our time together as a GSE team and the awesome time that we spent with our Rotarian hosts in Cayman, Nassau, Abaco and Provo.

As of June 1st, Mark, Mishay, Wendy, Katie and I became a family and for better or worse would have to see each other and deal with each other everyday. To our delight, there was no dealing with each other and although we sometimes grew physically tired, we looked forward to each and everyday as an adventure that would bring new experiences and new friends.

Our experiences included shadowing professionals in our respective career fields, eating conch (fish) prepared in numerous ways as well as eating other food that was new to us. We learned about different cultural traditions in each country that we visited and pulled together as a team to help one of our own begin to overcome a major phobia. Our fast-paced schedule was filled with multiple activities and events daily that would make an Olympic athlete tired but we drew strength from our anticipation and approached each day with grace. We got along so well that we joked that we should stage a huge disagreement at the airport on the way home so that our team leader, Mark, could use his problem solving skills. Lucky for him, he overheard our conversation so our attempted coup didn't work .

As we waited for our connecting flight to Arizona from the Miami Airport, words such as awesome, phenomenal, fantastic and fantabulous came up in conversation to describe our experience over the last 30 days. And, I will always remember how I felt when Mark's family met us at the terminal with a "Welcome Home" sign, balloons and beaded necklaces. The tearful reunion of Wendy and her Mom also touched my heart and when I rode up to my driveway, I could not hold back the tears as I saw my house and my family for the first time in 30 days. Welcome home!

Safe & Sound - Home Sweet Home
I just want to say that I am happy to hear of your safe return to your families and homes. One month away can seem like a life time, however in your case, you all have filled the time with lifetime memories and we in the Bahamas are very proud to have been a part of that. One cannot mention that as big as the world may seem sitting in Arizona or in the Bahamas, once you start to travel, you realize how small it can be especially when you are part of a great group of personalities as you the GSE team were. The beauty about it is that we can appreciate how we all contribute in one way or another to making a difference in the world. Thank you all for making a difference in my world and actually helping me to appreciate even more the wonder of the ROTARY WORLD. We can MAKE DREAMS REAL. All the best.
