Not a bad way to spend your lunchbreak ? I've had worst !
We arrived a few days ago in what our book described as a sleepy little fishing village called Semporna. The book was quite wrong and the place itself initially felt like it had a bit of an edge to it, but it turned out to be ok in the end because Jacky found avocado smoothies. The main reason we were there was the diving on the world heritage site (Due to the amount of wildlife down there) Pulua Sipidan. It was all a bit nerve wracking having not really dived for over 4 yrs but we were really looking forward to it and we were not disappointed!

Sharks, barracudas, coral, turtles, unicorn fish, bump head fish, napoleon wrasse..... the list just goes on and on. We didn't even have to go that deep to find them, one of the trigger fish was even nibbling on Jons fins!

At one point the current was quite strong and we had to hold onto the coral (carefully) as a continuous school of barracuda swam over us for about 10 minutes. On another dive we saw 17 white tip reef sharks cruising the bottom of the sea bed.

As you can see from the pictures we did not have an underwater camera with us to record any of this, so instead you have a couple of pictures of the island that we stopped off at in-between dives and oh yes that sand was pure white. Quite strangely there was a quite heavy army presence on the island with a log cabin base and look outs right in the middle of where the divers were relaxing. I did actually see a guy in full camo with woolly balaclava!!!! They say its to protect the wildlife but really it was protecting us against pirates in the area as westerners were kidnapped a few years ago from this area. (Jacky was hoping to get a glimpse of Jonny Depp as captain Jack Sparrow but was sadly disappointed). This is rated as one of the best dive sites in the world and its quite easy to see why. Loving it here and want to stay forever but hey ho Singapore here we come.
