A really big thankyou for taking the time to share your travels with us. It certainly stirs the wanderlust in us and gives us ideas for planning a trip in our dotage!!!!
Safe home! P.S., enough about me and my coincidences. Thanks for sharing all that guys!! Thoroughly enjoyed it! No wonder I could never remember where ye were going . Sure that was 'all around the world and back again'. That was so amazing!! Can i come too next time? Bursting to see ye and more pics. Safe home...... xxxxxxx
Wowie!! Are you sure those Muir Woods aren't maned after Muireann? Want to know some wierd coincidences? Yesterday we watched an episode of Michael Palin (pole to pole?) and he was in San Fran. Saw all about Alcatraz and the taunting view of the city. Later today Fionn was reading a book and came over to show me a pic of redwoods in yosemite park. Then, we were deciding on a DVD and Fionn wanted Star wars, I wanted Horton hears a who (Dr seuss) (We watched Eldorado, which is totally unrelated). Then I read this Blog!! Honest! I think you're journey through space and time took a detour to Rockchapel! Also... Muireann of Muir woods loves Ponies, Fairys Penguins... and what's her fave star wars charachter? Ewoks!!
ponies yaaay!! ponies at last! and not just penguins but FAIRY penguins!! You've made one little girl very happy! Were any of them called Tink by any chance? See ye soon xxxxx
tea & cake... ...wahoo sounds like a fab place. Tea, cake, wine, art deco - it has it all! May pop over... though the kettle in my kitchen is closer and now calling : )
franz josef yes it is 10 meters per day, we checked with him to make sure he'd said that as well, while we were there part fell off so it is pretty unstable but certainly on the move. Everytime they go up there the layout has changed !
This post has received an award for the most inappropriate use of the phrase 'Rock and Roll'. There will be a firing squad in Britain awaiting your return to give you your reward!
10m per day?!? Are you sure that's right? A glacier moving that fast would be extremely unstable. Maybe they meant 1m per day.
Looks amazing though, and that blue is just so incredible isn't it? It's frustrating that you can't seem to capture the luminescence on camera.
fantastic thanks for letting us all share your fantastic honeymoon trip............ has us itching to get out there and see more of this world out east. Have a great time in N.Z.
Just got back from Mulu. We didn't manage to climb the pinnacles...we were 70% there when it started to rain quite heavily. We had to go back to the Camp. Actually, your guide can bring you to the headhunters' trail opposite Camp 5. That's what we did. You'll find some wildlife...a lot of unique plants........and more leeches. Yea...i seriously mean MORE leeches.
But did you see any Koala's? Great view from the Petronas Towers - wasn't that where they filmed Entrapment?

Oh and my advice to Jacky is to give jon a gumshield to stop him biting your ankles through the night.
Tough Life I see you continue to slum your way around the globe....
Those tea plantations look amazing too. All looks very picture-sque.
Do they make earl grey there though...?
