After nearly 2 years back in Sydney it is time to hit the road again...

If you are surprised that I am traveling again then you’re not alone. I'm surprised too. Didn’t plan this trip at all, it forced itself on me.

The whole story started when my company (yet again) made some people redundant. I told my boss that I wouldn’t be too unhappy to leave and 3 days later I was “kicked” out. Wasn’t a traumatic experience at all as I had two more weeks to handover my stuff and the whole deal was sweetened with a nice payout.

Initially I thought "let’s find a new job" (seriously how stupid was I?). I only started to think about traveling when everyone asked the same question "where are you going to?" I cracked after hearing this question 5 times and began thinking about a new trip. Guess you do not need to be Einstein to figure out what the decision was.
It was made easier by Kellie agreeing to quit her job too and hit the road with me. Will be interesting to travel with her as we just had our 7 month anniversary and she doesn’t know what she got herself into... (Hi Kellie 😉

Anyway the plan is to roam around Africa and then head onto Egypt for a short stopover followed by an expedition in Jordan (gotta see Petra). Then it’s on to Germany for a white Christmas (finger crossed). That was Kellies on request as I would avoid Germany in winter at all cost. Am cold enough in Sydney. After that it’s on to Thailand and Malaysia to relax before we hit the corporate world again.

Thought I take you along the ride... Sit back, relax and enjoy

Keep the dream alive!
Ralph! Good to see you are keeping the dream alive and doing what you enjoy so much. It's my first day back at work, and after scanning your blog, I am already very envious!! Enjoy your trip and be safe! You should try get to Lebanon while you are in the area! Lebanon was the highlight of my trip, and an absolutely awesome place!! If you are there in Dec/Jan/Feb, you can go skiing - Ski the middle east!! (and no, they do not have indoor ski resorts like Dubai). Anyway, enjoy!!!! -Dan.
