Well, it's been a week now and I can't believe how incredible this trip has been so far. We have already seen and done so much stuff that I can't even fathom what's to come. I got up early this morning and the first thing I did after I got ready was step out the door and into Wal-Mart to shop for some warm clothes. Tim didn't pack a single long sleeve shirt and you know good and well he didn't have a jacket with him. I already had to buy a hideous orange hoodie at the KOA in Mt. Rushmore because it was so cold there and I didn't have anything warm to wear. Wal-Mart didn't have a single long sleeve shirt, no jackets and not even a sweatshirt for sale. The sales lady told me that it was unseasonably cold and that they were already prepared for the summer. I guess we were going to have to freeze until we could find something somewhere and that's exactly what we did. When I got back to the RV I woke up the rest of the crew and while they were getting ready I thought I would explore the stove/oven
Kayla & Emily at Buffalo Bills
They weren't really awake good yet ! and see what it had to offer. Well, this morning it had to offer fried egg sandwiches !! Of course Tim had to assist me with the lighting of the cook top. Look, this thing has so many buttons and gadgets and after my other mishaps, there was no way I was going to try and fire it up myself. Well the sandwiches were a big hit but it was time to get on the road and on into Yellowstone. Uhhhhhhhh, it looks like my little mishaps were not over yet. I thought I would help Tim get the motor home ready to go so I pushed the button to bring in one of the slides in the bedroom. Little did I know that Tim had his head two feet deep into the slide outside trying to fetch a 12 pack of coke !! He started beating on the side of the motor home and I thought to myself "Oh God he's going to kill me !!!". Well you'll be happy to know that he escaped without injury, well without serious injury. I'm not positive but he may have a tiny bump on his head, right above his left ear.
Don't Ask Me ??
They were looking at themselves in the glass door doing something silly. Ooooops ! We packed up and headed into downtown Cody, Wyoming to see none other than Buffalo Bills Historical Center. Well, I won't lie, it was pretty boring so we saw a few things, bought a few postcards, took a few pictures and headed out. Finally, our next stop was Yellowstone National Park ! We arrived at the gates of Yellowstone ready to go just like you would expect an RV full of tourist to do. We were mesmerized ! We just watched out the windows as Tim carefully maneuvered us through the park. The mountains, rivers, waterfalls, trees and everything were just incredibly beautiful. The first stop we made was at Yellowstone Lake. It was so big !!! I could just hear Daddy Jack saying "There's a whole lot-ta water out there !" The snow-capped mountains overlooking the water were amazing. Tim just kept driving and we just kept watching in utter amazement. He, being the great tour guide he is, found another remarkable place for us to see. He stopped just in front of a sign that said "Kepler Cascades". We couldn't really see anything from the road so we unloaded and headed for the overlook. WOW !!
It was completely breathtaking, the sound of the water hitting the rocks at the bottom was so peaceful. It reminded me of one of those CD's you can buy with the sounds of the ocean and stuff (nerdy I know, but me and Amber like them). Once we left the cascades I could tell that we were getting higher because my ears started popping like they had done the day before at Big Horn. Sure enough everything starts turning a little white, then a little whiter and then there it was, the SNOW !!! This time we figured we'd just pull over and do it !! So we did, we all got out and played in the snow. Tim was in shorts and no shoes at all, I was in short sleeves but at least the girls had on long pants. We had a BLAST !! We built a snowman, made snow angels and even had a snowball fight. By the time we got back into the RV the girls were frozen from head to toe ! We still had a few more things to see and we wanted to make it to the KOA in West Yellowstone, Montana so
Smile for the Camera
Kayla & Emily in front of Kepler Cascade in Yellowstone. we headed on out. Next, we went over the Continental Divide to the Grand Teton National Park to have lunch and then came back over it to try and catch Old Faithful. By the time we reached Old Faithful, it was set to go off in about 30 minutes so we decided to stay and check it out. We got some great pictures of it when it erupted and then we were off for West Yellowstone. On our way out we passed another interesting site call the paint pots. Tim had seen them before and thought that we would enjoy them so we stopped and took a peak. They are really neat and definitely worth seeing. By this time it was getting kinda late so we pulled out and headed for the KOA. Somewhere around 9:30 we crossed over the Montana state line and stopped for a picture. We made it to the campground and settled in for bed. Tomorrow we're making the trip all the way to Glacier National Park. I've already warned the girls that it'll be a "riding and watching movie day". Take Care and Good Night.

Expect the Unexpected
No, long sleeve shirts, jacket . . .So, I guess you were never a girlscout! Unless Tim has lost his memory, he should have known to expect the unexpected! AHHH, the things 'memories are made of". If you thinks it's cold now wait till you get to Glacier National Park! Don't forget to hide 'the surprise' for me up there somewhere. I'll try to find it in a few weeks. Trust me there is much more to see and some of it more 'breath taking' than what you have already encountered. Love reading the blogs, it is obvious you all are having a blast. Happy Trails! Love, Lynn
