Fancy dress at the theatre
Working in the theatre is great fun and as you can see from the photos it's a great opportunity for everyone to get dressed up and enjoy themselves!! This past week has been full of social activities, the most notable being the Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards, a celebration of locally talented and creative people in Wellington. One of the girls that I have met while working at Circa was nominated for an award, and all that we could do as a group assembling at the dinner table was keep our fingers crossed. Erin sounded so nervous giving her thank you speech in front of an audience of at least 300 in the town hall, but as winner of Most Promising Female Newcomer of the Year I guess its something she'll have to get used to. Having been in five plays this year was probably the main reason she won, and talking to her after the ceremony she expects/hopes the award to bring her more work and also recognition on her CV. I'm happy to have met such a great group of friends, borrowing a dress and shoes, and being invited along to watch a band play in a venue that, as

a 'visitor', I would never have found. This is exactly what I was hoping from my trip - to get a good taste of Kiwi life, and I like what I've learnt.

Wow and Christmas Greetings
Hi Kate, just been catching up on your travel blogs. The scenery looks amazing and it really looks like you are having fun. Like the look of your pad.
