Like the journey that I am about to embark upon, this blog is also an experiment. I am creating it so that I can share some of my experiences with who I care about and also as a personal documentation. As many of us are disappearing into foreign lives, hopefully we can all feel connected in one way or another. I remember one of the strongest realizations from the solo journey during vision quest was knowing that there were 15 others out there alone in the desert.
Itinerary:
Tomorrow I take-off = SFo to Hearthrow to a shuttle bus to EasyJet via Ibiza, Espana.
one large backpack, max weight 20kg plus an obese carry-on bag. I will be gone until dec 8th or 5.5 months or the most difficult unpacking process. cleansing lesson: let go of everything but the essentials.
my first stop is a three month stay at a creative, self-sustaining, weird and reflective community of about 20 people, mostly other international travelers. My plan is to fully immerse myself into the present moment all the while working in nature. The ironic, or intentional, component of the community is that it is on Ibiza (Ih -bee-tha i am told) , the well established party island of europe. It will be fascinating to witness how these two opposite attitudes operate on the same island. either a destructive dichotomy or harmonious balance
I am keeping travel plans after this first experience flexible according to my state of being. I plan to travel a bit and then return to spain to work on another farm in the southern region during october. the story will unfold as i attempt my blogging stunt.

Kelsi, I am so excited for you and can't wait to hear what you get yourself into. Have a wonderful trip, and think of me when you bust out your flow (if you find the time). Lovely seeing you yesterday. I'm going to miss my dear flower child. Good luck.
