Poodle Island
Back on the travelling scene again and this time south east asia, I got a bit held up by a delayed flight and ended up in phuket close to midnight luckly the hotel i was staying even though was not 24 hour check in was still open. I was a bit worried because they said they were going to close reception and sonia hadn't arrived but they said i could wait out front and i could let her in when she got here which i estimated would be around 2am... of course we didn't have cell phones so this was going to be fine ... then it started to rain.. so i thought maybe i will sleep in my room until 2 and then wait until she arrived no use waiting in the rain...

I woke with a knock at the door around 1:30... sonia had arrived and managed to get a hold of one of the hotel staff who directed her to my room. I knew everything would be fine 😉

So far things have been really good we stayed in karon beach which was a bit far from phuket town or patong beach but we managed to

haggle the tuk tuk drivers.... (slowly getting the hang of it)

We spent 2 days here and visited the beach the first day getting burnt beyond anything i have ever experienced before, i am only just recovering now haha so the next day we went into phuket town and visited the Sunday Market... That was really great and a full day too as we visited two jewellery shops on the way out to save money and bypassed the bus station after walking maybe 10 km on foot. over all though the markets were great.

Monday we left for phang Ngan... and in seasoned travellers form caught the local bus after only waiting 5 mins then a tuk tuk at a well bargined price straight to the bus station where we stepped on the 12am bus as it was about to leave and then got off the bus at 1:45 and booked a tour at 2 to go to the James Bond island with an over night stay thrown in. anybody would have thought we were locals with such seemless travelling skills if only we wern't sunburnt beyond belief.

The James Bond island tour was great I will

Sonia's market food obsession
let the photos do the talking as we took plenty... the stay in the muslim fishing village was also something special. Sonia keeps talking about the food, I think she has found some great dishes.

After returning back to the bus station we have shipped off to Phi Phi island via krabi, weather hasn't been super but i managed to find my way around the bars and pubs on the island writing myself off on the first night after my first lady boy show and some heavy bucket coctails. Sonia seemed to survive though so i must be out of practise.

We are trying to organise a trip out to "The Beach" now and are just waiting for a gap in the weather which may never come 😞
