Chelsea at Qwest Field
Introducing, Chelsea Lilleness, RN, BSN (Almost!) That's it folks, seven years later and she is finally a college graduate
We know this is not a travel related entry, but since it is one of the main reasons for our traveling, we thought it was appropriate to include a blog about this weekends events!
This past weekend consisted of many
long ceremonies,
heart warming celebrations and
strange graduation traditions and hoopla! From Ivy Cutting, to Pinning, to Commencement; it's enough to wear any new graduate out (as well as her supportive friends and family)!
Both David and I agree that one of our favorite memories was the graduation fiesta! Aside from some fiesta cheese mishaps (Thank you Marv, Dodo, and Mary for trouble-shooting that one!), the party was the perfect culmination to a crazy past two years suffering through nursing school. We both loved seeing all our friends and family together, sharing nachos and margaritas! We have included some photos from the night at the end of this entry.
Although at times it felt like a whirlwind, this weekend was extremely special and we want to give some shout-outs to all the people who made it as big as blessing as it was. Thank
Graduation Fiesta
Don't we look relieved to be finally done with nursing school? you to our parents for all their help and creativity in honoring Chelsea's achievements. A huge thanks to the Meier family for opening up their beautiful home! And finally, we want to thank all our friends and family for their presence and support not only this weekend, but the whole long haul that has been nursing school! We love you all. We especially missed those who couldn't come to all the events this weekend. All though you weren't there in body, we felt blessed by your prayers and well-wishes from afar. Thanks for thinking of us and we missed you!
Well, that's all the big news for now. Today is recovery day (or "x-box time") as David affectionately refers to it. Starting Monday, Chelsea heads back to school for an intensive nursing board prep. class. Talk about an anti-climatic ending to graduation weekend! Other than that, we hope life will calm down so we can finish planning and start packing for Europe!
