Day 8 in India

Today we woke up feeling much better from whatever travel bug we had. We had breakfast in bed, which the hotel provided and then set out in Mumbai. We didn't get to orient ourselves very much with the area last night, since it was already dark when we arrived. We decided we want to switch hostels because the one we stayed in last night had really uncomfortable beds and we don't really want to sleep in them another two nights. We shopped hostels, and all of our options are ramshackled or even more decrepid. We selected the leaset decrepid of the three we looked at, based on the comfort of the beds. haha.
We wandered around a bit, though it is raining. Actually, it is pouring here today. We are hoping that it clears up in the afternoon so we can go on a walking tour of the Colaba area that is in our Lonely Planet guidebook. We are looking forward to doing some major shopping tonight around some of the bazaars. We priced some items last night and are excited to return. Hopefully the weather will be nicer tomorrow and we can go to Elephant Island. Today it is closed because of the weather/waves. Elephant Island, is named because of the Huge carving of an elephant that was said to be carved in like 400-650 by Shiva. I don't think it resides there any longer, but there are some cool caves to check out on the island.
Mumbai really is a much nicer city then any that we have visited yet. We had an early lunch of scrambled eggs on toast at a place called Leopold's that actually looked like a real restaurant. We were pretty excited about it. I am still in search of internet that is quick enough to allow me to upload photos. Hopefully Iwill find one in the next few days before I depart for Thailand.
