The Canoe by some Old Bridge Trusses
Hi everyone,

This is just a quick little blurp about how our trip is going so far. Brett and I have had a productive and busy couple of days. We have canoed across ten (and a half -Brett doesn't want to get short changed) lakes and two rivers/streams (the Raquette was WAY low this morning and we had to walk the canoe through most of the knee high rapids). We are currently resuppling in Long Lake before we go into the most remote section of the NFCT in NY (three days; no roads, no people, no worries). The black flies are BAD (worse then Brett or I have ever seen them -yes this includes the Penobscot watershed for you old trail folk back in Maine) and we are bitten pretty badly. We are probably a little ahead of schedule and finished the first map in 2.5 days, though we are sore our spirits are up. I would post some pictures, but I left my connector cable in the canoe by the lake. We'll see you on the other side (I don't even know if I can place pictures on a public computer website!) So keep posted and I'll show pictures whenever I get a chance.

From the River (well technically Long Lake),

bugs!
Sorry to hear about the black flies guys! Stay tough. Also, Luke, I had a dream that I was on a canoe trip with you. Pretty random, huh? You should tell Brett that he is living my dream, apparently. Good luck with the next part of your trip, can't wait to hear about it!
