Hi everyone,

I'm just ducking into the public library to give you all a shout out from Sarnac Lake Village, NY. The bugs weren't so bad, but there was a tough little portage and up stream paddle along the Raquette River! Some very low class II rapids, mostly a walk and less of a paddle. Brett and I are doing well and actually have seen some sweet wild life. There was a very curious pine martin that decided to pay us a visit at camp last night, we saw a HUGE snapper turtle (I'm talking bite your paddle apart big) that we decided to leave alone, we got our first bald eagle and hawk viewings in along Stony Creek and finally we saw Old Man River twice (at the lean-to near Raquette Falls) he had a huge beard and a nineteen pound canoe, now that is traveling light!

Again I have no pictures that I can upload, but once the trip is done, I'll go back through these posts and calrify some stuff, write some more details and post pictures. The canoe is holding up well and we are on our way descending down the Adirondacks (Iriquoi racial slur

One of our favorite lakes in New York
refering to one of their least favorite tribes as "Bark Eaters") to the big lake, Champlain. Somehow we've managed to land in Sarnac Lake Village the same day as their Corvette weekend, there are like fifty corvettes parked outside this library. Oh and the police force here has two electric cars they zoom around in. Anyway I should get back to Brett who is making calls to people while he has cell reception. We plan on being in Plattsburg in about three days!

Off to the river. PS Even after we took a bath in Lower Sarnac lake, we still go some river and lake funk on us and I think I may be offending my next door neighbor...oh well cest la vie!

glad to hear all is well, stay above the water, unless funk removal is needed! Have lots of fun. Tam
